Why is the sound in old italian films out of sync?

I don't like that.

reply

Not only the italian...i've seen many old romanian movies with the same problem.

reply

why is it?? they obviously shot without sound but why? so strange.

reply

Maybe the cause is the bad editing.

reply

Most classic italian movies had their voices dubbed over in post-production http://www.nytimes.com/1992/12/18/style/18iht-dub_.html

reply

In opinion, the dubbing is ruin the movie.

reply

I dont either...
But i know that a lot of Italian movies were meant to be marketed abroad...
The intent with the Italo-horror films (some of my favorites btw) was to rip off a foreign idea and shoot a quickie on the cheap...see most of their 'Zombi' ones for example...
The US did the same with Friday the 13th...we ripped off Bay of Blood to good effect with thoses earlier Fridays...

reply

I didn't know that italians made "zombie"movies...interestingšŸ¤”

Check out Fulci and Lenzi...
They made a bunch of fun, gory ones in the wake of Romero's NOTLD...'Zombi' was one of the best...hope you find them (but seek out the unedited versions!)

reply
