I love Ennio Morricone but his nauseatingly-schmaltzy, pan flute-filled soundtrack to "Once Upon A Time In America" is pure torture.

Alan Silvestri's equally maudlin score to "Forrest Gump" is also tripe.

Ladyhawke: the synthesizer-driven, instantly-dated score is an insult to this wonderful, classic fantasy.

The synth-laden scores for "Witness" and "Manhunter" are also insults to what are well-written and acted films.

Word of warning: once you get "The Third Man" soundtrack in your head you ain't never gettin it out; it's an ear worm of the most insidious kind.

The "Tootsie" soundtrack blows big time.
