Jim said that he would respond to any of our requests whether we presented them on the board or via email. I'm waiting for a response from him. I want to delete my account. I don't think that it is an unreasonable request since other forums have a delete your account option. Also, a lot of features have been added to this site. Delet your account should be one of them.

By deleting my account! Why is that so hard for you to understand? What kind of ridiculous attitude is that for you to have? Just because you're happy here doesn't mean that everyone feels the same as you. Every reputable site has a delete your account option.

You can stay here if you want to. You can be satisfied with leaving your account active even though you won't use it. But when people do that, other members will still respond to your posts thinking that you will reply back to them. Maybe you are comfortable replying to inactive members but that doesn't mean others do.
My god, think about someone other than yourself.

What other forums have a delete your account option? I've never wanted to do it so I've never looked for it, but I've also never noticed it. On the few occasions I've seen someone ask for their account to be deleted, it was, but the posts remained.

You made your case that most other social networking
sites are pretty much required by their customers to have
a delete option. I think it is mandatory by law in the
European Union where they take their citizens seriously.

The subject is, will it be implemented here, and when.

Nah, I think that he didn't consider the possibility that members would want to leave permanently. He will add the feature. I just need to know how soon that will happen.

It's fine if you want to stay but don't be surprised if other people want to delete their accounts. People have already left their accounts inactive because there isn't an option to delete their account. Why would you want to reply to a ghost account anyway?

I dont 'know' anyone who wants to self-delete...so i am indeed surprised!
As for your two questions...
Sometimes people that dont 'get on well' can still have amazing conversations
And replying to a ghost post can spark further discussion or debate with active members
I hope you get your self delete option ( this site is growing and the developers seem to be on point so you should get it soon) but id rather you stay right here with us because youre fun, spunky and interesting:)
Anyway, best wishes...hope i continue to meet you around this joint!

I'm sorry but I don't need to look at another post in order to have ideas on what to discuss. Furthermore, I'm just not interested in participating in forums anymore. I've even deleted my tmdb.org account. The option to delete your account should be available on every member's profile. Nuff said.

We reply to many ghosts on the individual movie boards. It gets the conversations going on those boards.
I can't see why it is such a huge problem. If you're gone, then you're gone. I won't be too upset if you don't reply.

I did tell this person that we didn't really have to like each other. I told her/him that we would more or less talk to each other as time went on. The girl/guy has issues. I accept that. She/he wanted no part of me. I never talked to this lady/gent again until now.
Goodbyes are in order. I do wish this person well. There is a great deal of negativity.
Hopefully, this individual will eventually find help and learn to love life. I never wished ill will.
Barclays is Barclay's own enemy. Try to be nice? You get slapped.
"Her" shtick isn't entertaining if you are trying to have a reasonable conversation.
In any case, Barclays may very well be here after the mountains crumble.....blah blah blah...
I have no doubt! This one needs an audience!!!! This one needs HELP!

I'm kind of wondering what happened to Jim.

His account no longer has the red-colored highlight that we used to see. It's the same color as regular users. Now, only moderators have the red-colored names.

And it seems like he hasn't responded to messages even from moderators.
If he's busy, then that's okay. I think he did a great job making this all from scratch, and we kind of have everything we need for a forum. I just wanted to know how if any updates were coming along (like flat format, buttons to make italics/quote/bold faster), but he hasn't posted in a long time - just wondering if he's all right.

Why does all text have to he formatted ... I like just normal text, without HTML directives, and code, sometimes some of which can break the security of a site, and you would never know it.

Stick to plain text, please!

I was just hoping there'd be buttons to make it faster, the same way IMDB had it. I don't really need the fancy font styles/sizes and such, or even different colored text (and I agree, it might break the site if too complicated). When I was talking about Jim, I meant his username was in a special red color, to show he was a staff member (but for some reason it's no longer red?)

If you have a huge problem with the fact that any of your posts will be left behind, start deleting them now.
Once they are gone, you can disappear, and your account will be "deleted"
