I agree, and I saw 4-5 of his movies... I know people who don't even know him who'll say good things about him because they think they are SUPPOSED to.

Amen! You're SUPPOSED to like his films because they're artsy fartsy. They're boring, incomprehensible dreck! I don't have the time for crap like that.

Finally someone else has said it. His fans and other so-called "new era critics" usually overrate him to the point of delusion. I liked his Solaris but was it a supermasterpiece? I don't think so. "Stalker" had some really unique moments but again, people overrate it as much as possible
shareStalker was so boring. We don't need the annoying writer to constantly self indulge and feed the audience with end less monologues and explanations. We already get the world is boring from the awful looking sepia artistic choice. The whole monologue after was unnecessary.
