Kevin Spacey is overrated

Why do people think he is a great actor? He legitimately is incapable of even being a chameleon like Marlon Brando. He just plays himself in every movie. He was embarrassing in Horrible Bosses. Just over the top acting there. Baby Driver, he did nothing exceptional. All he had was a stoned narcissistic look. He is the weakest performer of every movie he is in. He looks embarrassing in that fake prosthetic make up in that Getty movie trailer. I don't get what's the hype about his acting. It's extremely below average - average. Seems like it's being praised by people who think Daniel Day Lewis is the greatest of all time, but even he is at most average. I can't think of any actor in Hollywood today who is above average. Jake Gyllenhaal is trying, but he's just weak and unbelievable in everything he's been in. These current actors have no screen presence whatsoever.

I just watched him in Usual Suspects. He's doing a very bad Sharon Stone, Basic Instinct imitation. Benecio Del Toro got robbed, he easily tops him in that movie. Along with a few others too.

Spacey barely does anything to disappear into his character. When he tries a different accent or different voice range, you can still hear Kevin Spacey. This guy is a joke, he fails to feel or look like a different person each time. You always know it's him. All the signs of a terrible actor. Just like Cate Blanchett, just abysmal and overrated.

Hilarious, they nominate Kevin Spacey, but don't even bother to nominate Chris Cooper for best supporting actor when he easily was the best actor of American Beauty.

reply

Chris Cooper should have been nominated for Breach
