I still enjoy listening to Michael Jackson's music...
It really depends. On why I don't like the artist, if I have to look at them or not, etc. But even if I do still enjoy the art, the dislike (or more the reason for the dislike) is always in the back of my mind. It kind off sours the whole thing a bit.

Sometimes it bothers me, but usually not. I usually separate someone's personal life from their craft.

Nope! Once a scumbag such as Spacey is exposed, I can no longer enjoy anything he does. Hopefully he'll be wearing an orange jumpsuit soon.

Yes, but it is easier for arts like music, film directing, writers, painters, etc. Because then you can see the art (or hear it) without seeing their face.
With actors it is harder because you see the person and if you hate them enough, then just their face will trigger that hate..
In formal art criticism, and this applies to all artforms, there is the principle of the Original Fallacy, meaning that the origins of the work (mainly its creator, but also other origins, e.g., national or historic) should not influence how the work of art is apprehended and appreciated. The art should stand on its own merits alone, and not on whence it came. I support this principle, but it's easier to do with non-perfomng arts than it is with the lively arts. I can look at the painting or sculpture, or read the book, and enjoy the work for its own sake. The same is not true with acting.
shareDepends. I mean, if the arts don't reflect the artists evildoings this is okay. For example, you can judge Hitler's paintings as objective arts because his paintings did not correlate to his crimes.
But imagine a painting of a sickly Jew tortured by an imposing Nazi officer. It would be judged absolutely differently if the painter was Anne Frank or Hitler.
But it shouldn't be. This is an established principle. It is not subject to debate. Period.

I think you can. For the most part anyways. I almost tend to separate both art from the artist for various reasons. It may depend on the artist or the art in question.

I can. Artist and art are two different things.
shareYes, I can enjoy the art, regardless of my feelings or opinions about the artist.
