What actor or actress....

would you want to give your eulogy?

You can write it if you're so inclined.

They can be living or dead.
Would you go for comedy, drama, good speaking voice, maybe somebody
who can sing and dance?

reply

Living or dead???
Paul Newman! He wouldn't even have had to speak. Just to know that he showed up would be fantabulous!

edit: Of course, I'd be dead, so I'd never know it..... right?

reply

You'd know. You would let him know before you died.

He'd have nothing but lovely things to say about you.
Especially if YOU wrote it. πŸ˜‰

reply

"Especially if YOU wrote it. πŸ˜‰ "

Ha! I always did think he was a great actor. A lovely man.

reply

[deleted]

Nice. I'm sure he'd do you proud.

That's a great song choice.
Can I borrow that one ?

reply

[deleted]

Andy Samberg. First, pass out the beers and/or whatever else people might like to drink or smoke. Then a few jokes and a music parody, completely unrelated to me or my death. Finish up with the following:

"TexasJack is dead. So is Phillip Tattaglia. Moe Greene. Stracci. Cuneo. Today we settled all family business."

reply

I love it.

He could bring Timberlake with him.

reply

Even better! But he's gotta rock the fish costume. My name is Mr. Fish...

reply

Fish costume??

😎

reply

It's from Samberg's last movie "Popstar". Timberlake played his lowly assistant with dreams of the big-time and he got his shot at the end of the movie...but he had to wear a fish costume.

Oh okay then. Thanks, Jack.

reply

LOL, Jack! So is Fredo and about 45 others.

😎

reply

Perfect!

It's a tie between James Earl Jones for his magnificent voice, and the late, great John Houseman, who could solemnly intone that I had "EARNED it!"

The risk with Houseman, of course, is that he might mention that I had a "skull full of mush!"

PS My third choice would be the late, great comic Mitch Hedberg who might insist that I get
a receipt for the funeral service.

PPS This is a GREAT thread!

Rod Serling

reply

The perfect ending monologue to one's life.

reply

Good choice, but maybe a bit creepy?

😎

reply

Houseman would be a great choice.

"He did well in life because he earrrrrrned it"

Of course he's going to mention your "skull full of mush"
Nobody can ignore that elephant in the room. ;)

reply

LOL! Stop it, you're killing me over here!

reply

I loooooved Mitch Hedberg. He was so funny and absurd. I'll never forget the first time I saw him on Letterman. He was a huge loss.

reply

I still do. He's one of my all time favs!

"One time I bought a donut. They gave me a receipt. Why do I need a receipt? I give you the money, you give me the donut, end of transaction. We do not need to bring ink and paper into this."

😎

reply

You know, he was so great at the delivery. The way he carried himself. It was absolutely charming and funny. There was nothing mean in his act. When I read those lines you wrote, I could instantly hear him saying them. He was unique.

reply

a sober Richard Burton

reply

Good choice.

Although that one could be a bit of a struggle to find the right time.
Sober time I mean.

reply

LOL! Stop it, Godewey! You're still killing me over here!

😎

reply

You're good for my ego MM.

I think I'll keep you around for awhile.

You'd want Burton drunk. I understand that he could talk your ear off when in his cups. He's deliver a fine eulogy!

reply

He can get drunk after the eulogy.

reply

Drama...Milla Jovovich, she has the look and the voice, but in comedies...no she's bad in comedies.

reply

I choose Katheryn Winnick from Vikings, because then I would come back to life.

reply

A wise choice croft. Go with what you know.

Bad in comedies ? She was funny in The Fourth Kind. πŸ˜‰

reply

What about...bringing up bobbyπŸ˜‰

reply

I haven't had the pleasure.

From what I see I might leave that pleasure to you.
I don't want to ruin Milla for me.

reply

Along the lines of John Houseman, I would also go with Orson Wells. He had such a beautiful speaking voice.

reply

Great choice.

He would give an epitaph to remember.
He might also scare the crap out of everybody there.

BTW the next ATM pick was made.
Not the first choice but still good? If you're still interested.

reply

I saw it and I started watching it tonight. So far, I love it. I can't believe I've never heard of it!!! What a great cast. There are so many great actors in that. I'll try to finish it tonight or tomorrow. I love when there's a hidden gem. They're so rare.

reply

In this day they are hard to find.
I hope you like it.

I was going to pick Before the Rain. A great conversation movie.
The only English subtitled one I could find had other subtitles too.
I didn't think that would be of interest to that many people.
We still might have a "private" screening of that movie for those who are interested.
Mostly Mina and me. Keep it mind.

reply

Hmm. That sounds sort of familiar. Sure, count me in if you give it the go ahead.

reply

You probably have seen it. I'll get you a link if we do this.

reply

I don't think I've seen it. Looks good.

reply

Looks great you mean. ;)

reply

I know..... I need a thesaurus! I'm just trying to be positive!

reply

You never disappoint.
At least me that is. ;)

reply

I may have a look at this. thanks.

reply

It's a great film.

Hard to find on youtube with English subtitles.

reply

Thanks for the heads up. Please tell me the name of the movie, and refresh my memory on how I would discover this on my own.

Find the ATM thread for the link or search for it.
It's on youtube.
You're now on your own.
I'm off to the land of nod.

reply

Oooooh, another excellent choice!

"Rosebud was one of his favorite things when he was a boy. It was (SPOILER ALERT!!!) a sled.

😎

reply

Christopher Walken..

reply

Patrick Stewart

reply

Definitely.

Frankenstein never scared me! Marsupials do. Cause they're fast!

reply

Love this! Makes me laugh just thinking about it.

reply

William Shatner!

reply

Yes.

Shatner going full on Kirk.
He could even wear the old Star Trek uniform and rip it.
Full on overacted epitaph.
Perfect.
