Scariest movie ever
For me it's "Jaws"
shareJaws? Sorry croft. I never could understand the fear factor in this. I suppose it is because I have never swam in a body of water where sharks could be a threat. They really are the last thing on my list when it comes to fright. If I was afraid, this movie honestly wouldn't bother me much. While it's a fun film and the story is interesting, I just can't work up enough emotion when it comes to fear. You finally see the big fish at the end. I saw Jaws when it first came out in the theaters. The jump scare didn't even work back then
For me? The scares have to be something I can relate to. I'm alone......
Is someone I don't know in the house with me?
Just one of a number of movies that scare me, but I just watched, When a Stranger Calls, 1979.
(Forget that remake! AWFUL!!!!)
Anyway, that is the sort of thing that bothers me. I am much more afraid of another human being who wants to hurt me in some way, than some big fish.

WOW! I had to look that up. I haven't seen that! I can't wait to see it!
I'll definitely get back to you on this! Thanks!

Definitely don't bother with that remake. I watched it when it came out on DVD. Not good.....
shareJust watched it on YouTube. The first part was intense. i got the chills when Julia looked at her notebook and there was nothing there.
What scared you?
There is something I don't understand though. Jill Johnson, Carol Kane's character. She has gone back to her maiden name? Where is her husband? Where are her children? They aren't even mentioned. That was driving me batty throughout the movie. Did I miss something?

"I'm assuming that as 14 years have passed her children are grown up perhaps and a return to maiden name suggests divorce.I don't think they are mentioned though."
See? That distracted me.
As for this movie? The chills from this was much the same as the first one.... the beginning.
I still think that the first movie as a whole, was so much better.
I just realized that this second film was a TV movie. That isn't to say that it is bad because of that. I just can't understand why Jill's past wasn't brought up. She had a husband and children. They were her life in the first film. It made no sense to exclude them in this sequel.
The Exorcists and those earlier slasher films would always be this for me when I was younger.

La Fin Absolue du Monde
shareI don't really get scared by movies, but one that bothered me a bit, as I think I saw it too young, was Slumber Party Massacre. Watching it now I find it cheesy as hell, but the few lines that the killer speaks still give me the creeps. I think that maybe I picked up on the feminism and all the phallic symbolism even though I didn't understand it at that age.
shareZombies,anyone?
shareI am a horror aficionado and that question has been asked so many times. There are so many sub-genres of horror that each has their own "scariest". It is impossible to pinpoint.
