Napster

I'm having difficulty reading your posts. On the iPad I am unable to open anything earlier than 5 days ago. They are NOT there! I'm on my laptop currently, but something is weird. It's a hit or a miss. Some will show...others do not? Some of the ones which do open have a redacted block above. Have you been hacked? Any ideas of what the problem might be?

reply

Sorry to interrupt, but you have problems only with his posts?

reply

Just Napster's and it seems to be only when he's in a "discussion" with or about Barclays. I can log off then read them, but of course I wouldn't be able to comment if I chose to do so.

reply

Now that's weird...you have contact jim about this?

reply

No, not yet, but I will.

reply

If you have Barclays on "ignore" it may hide posts that are replies to hers.

reply

Thanks. That was the problem. I had thought of that, but I could still read Barclays' posts so it was strange I couldn't open Napster's posts dealing with Barclays. I just now un-ignored.

reply

Shouldn;t have any more problems...the only activity I'll have down the road involving the troll is calling it out on any lies it tells, which, as we all know, are frequent, or any more death wishes on people.

reply

He wished death for you? How disgusting! I cannot locate the post.

reply

Of course not. It deleted it when it got blasted for posting it. And reported. Typical of "barclays."

reply

That is when you should take a screen shot to have evidence.

reply

Others saw it. It was reported by several posters.

reply

Good, I'm glad it was reported. I still think it's a good idea to take a screen shot of something which is as disgusting as this was. You then have it word for word to throw back into the poster's "face" if s/he denies writing it.

reply

Oh, the troll not only didn't deny it, but said "So what? Get over it" when Dazed called it out over it, complained in a call-out thread to Jim, said some posters don't belong here, and is currently whining and crying about how it's being harassed and persecuted. And it's been caught in about 10 lies in the past few days. The truth always outs.

reply

How long it's going to last....it's geting redicoules...sorry for my english

reply

As long as it has to.

reply

I have a bad feeling about this...

reply

You haven't been paying attention, my friend. Asking napsdufroid to set aside a grievance is like trying to take juicy t-bone steak away from a pitbull.

reply

I did not say that...when did i...

reply

When the grievance is 100% justified, you got that right.

reply

This troll is analogous to those ugly things which hide under bridges. It resides in obscurity where its only purpose is to "jump out" and attempt to bestow hurt on someone. Maybe if it's ignored it will slink back to hide under the bridge (back to hiding behind its monitor).

reply

It's impposible,kspkap...

reply

Well that's rotten! I was hoping if we didn't engage it, it would not have anyone to respond to. We also can put it on Ignore and if no one has replied to it we wouldn't be missing anything. Just a thought...

reply

Well,kspkap...i can't ignore anyone...it's in my nature not to do so...if you or any member can do,fine...but i can't ignore someone who wants to talk with me...whatever is a troll or not.I'm sorry, but this is who i am.

reply

I misspoke. I meant to "ignore" the post. The troll is not wanting to "talk" with you. When you respond to a troll you are feeding it. Why engage in a losing argument? What is to be gained? When someone is a cyber bully s/he wins. You cannot come out ahead because that person isn't going to change. S/he is smiling while you are getting frustrated. How do you handle a face to face with someone who wants to argue? Do you continue to have the last word? Or do you agree to disagree and change the subject? Or do you just walk away....like ignoring the troll's post? Many, many times on these sites when I encountered a losing argument I would just let it ride and "walk away".

reply

I'm not frustrated,kspkap...and you're right. In a face to face...confruntation with someone who really whants to argue,i simply walk away, because it's not worth it.Anyway...i've made a promise to another member that i will back off from that situation and i'm keeping my word.

reply

My internet is not working today. What should I do?

reply

PANIC!!!!!!!!!

reply

I saw this topic and thought "People still use Napster?" Their headquarters is on my way home, close to where I live, and I'm surprised they're a legitimate business. Oh wait... I see they're owned by Rhapsody, literally just "Napster in name only." Only the Napster "brand name" has been moving around being sold from one company to another, not an actual organization structure.

reply

Its crazy to think that Napster was only a world wide phenomenon for a few years. I wonder if that dude who invented it made any money off the name.

reply

Pretty sure he did. He certainly made money from his involvement with Facebook in their early days.

reply

[deleted]

Oh yeah, and Kazaa too.

reply

I thought so too. I thought it was going to be reminiscing about the glory days of Napster.
I was so heavily into it back in the day.

RUN!!!!

reply

No clue, ksp. Happening with anyone else's posts?

reply

No...see reply to croft_alice. Very strange, as I'm reading this post. Weird!

reply

Very strange. You can see *everyone* else's posts? Have you poked around in a lot of other threads to make sure it's not happening with other members? I can't think of any reason you wouldn't be able to see just one poster's posts, and it's even weirder you can see them when you log out.
