shareThis is a very mean and nasty thread. Sex appeal is highly subjective. Actors can be sexy in one role because the character is sexy, but a total ugly dork in another film. That’s the job right? Scarlett Johansson was stunning in Match Point yet so plain in Marriage Story.
I used to watch those BBC dramas on Sunday Night PBS Masterpiece Theatre and every actor was plain to outright ugly, yet some of the chracters they played were supposed to be these stunningly attractive people. The dramas worked because the actors were great and the dramas succeeded in convincing viewers that the character was considered attractive in that world. For that matter, ever seen an opera?
This is more so about the Hollywood Hype Machine really.
