Who do you think would be a good choice to direct a film version of "The Stand"?

That person would definitely have to be open to the idea of breaking up the adaptation into a trilogy.

The director of "The Revenant" would be ideal seeing as that film exuded a post-apocalyptic atmosphere from start to finish.

John Hillcoat showed he might have the aesthetic chops necessary for this kind of project with the imperfect "The Road."

Frank Darabont did a masterful job with two other King stories - Green Mile and Shawshank Redemption, so he might be a good choice.

Agreed! I'd at least give him all the time he wanted to pitch his ideas, LOL.

I second that emotion!
Frank Darabont would be my first choice if The Stand was made again.

James Cameron

The James Cameron of the first "Terminator" would indeed be ideal.

I don't think Garris did badly with the 1994 ABC mini-series, but I can't see him being acceptable to many here.

Maybe not my first choice but it wouldn't stop me from watching it.

Ridley Scott.
