I was invited to join in on one about five months ago when I joined this site. They wanted to do that on this site. It may still be going on. I was interested at first but after thinking it over, I decided that this site is already a place to talk about movies. I didn't really want to discuss and review films with a few select individuals here when I could talk to everyone on this site. They had a number of rules and wanted to vote on a name for the club and all. It sort of turned me off. They seemed like nice people though.
I wish them well. I wish you well, and good luck with this idea, but I like it here just fine.
I take it that you are relatively new here. I hope you will hang around this site and join in with us. This place is growing all the time.

Fair enough. Over the years on IMDb I've found it frustrating with people coming and going and would rather discuss film with a smaller group of people who are consistently available to talk and contribute.

The thing is you can find that group of people here without closing off the others. There are plenty of regular users here, and more that pop in every now and then.

I agree with Margo. It's an interesting idea, but I like it better here. Good luck with whatever you choose to do.

reply

Well, for what i'm interested about...the groups are gone...so i stick with what i have now.

You might try the classic film section over at IMDB2 ShinyMcShine. There are quite a few hardcore film buffs over there, and some pretty good discussions. Many of the members over there feel that the site is slowly dying, so it’s possible that they may need a new place to congregate at some point.

Does anyone else find it interesting that so many allegedly new posters like Mr. Shiny here tend to make posts attempting to draw traffic away from here? Smells like yet another bennie sock.
