Most Underrated Movies

There are many. What do you think?
I just watched Midnight Run with Robert DeNiro and Charles Grodin yesterday.
I haven't seen this in quite a while but every time I do, I can't understand why it isn't talked about more. this was such a fun film. If you haven't seen it you should! It's one of the best road pictures EVER!

What movies would you choose?

reply

Bio-Dome, the one and only.

reply

A little more info? I never heard of it..... Obviously underrated! LOL!

reply

Pauly Shore and Stephen Baldwin. The best comedic duo for the young teenager I was.

reply

I had to look it up to see what it is about. Looks like a fun movie. Thanks! I will have to check it out!

reply

.... And it has a Imdb rating of 4.4 and Metascore of 1 !

I rate it a 10/10 and know it all by heart.

reply

Midnight Run is a childhood favourite of mine. I find these movies really underrated:

Waterworld
Chronicles of Riddick
Mad Max 3
MacGruber

reply

I remember the Mad Max movies. My favorite is the second one..... Road Warriors.

reply

Yeah, Road Warrior is the best. I never get tired of it.

reply

I have that one, but I have so many films that I forget about it. I must watch it again soon.

reply

I can't agree with Waterworld

reply

I love it. I don't get how it was such a huge flop.

reply

it was a comedy right ??

reply

Well it does have a lot of comedy in it. Mainly provided by Dennis Hopper.

reply

the Hopper character alone made this unwatchable

reply

Lol, he made it fun!

reply

it wasn't meant to be - that's the point

reply

I don't know, it was meant to be a big fun blockbuster and as such works (almost) perfectly.

reply

the movie was way ahead when it came to global warming - nobody was talking about it back in 1995

reply

The Last Airbender

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Last_Airbender

4.2/10 IMDb
6% Rotten Tomatoes
20% Metacritic

I liked it and thought it got far more hate than it deserved.

reply

Another one is Catch Me If You Can, with Leonardo DiCaprio and Tom Hanks.
It's not really talked about much. I think it was a great movie. Based on a true story!

reply

It's a great movie. However, it's not underrated, it's apropriately rated. Maybe forgotten though.

reply

I suppose it seems underrated to me because it is forgotten. LOL! I am surprised though, that many people I know, either have forgotten it or never even heard of it.

reply

Yeah, critics and audience both liked it. It has 8.1 rating in IMDb and 96% RT. Great movies teritory there. Yet it has a generic story and nothing really memorable somehow. The only scene I remember is how DiCaprio removes toy planes' stickers in a bathtub. I don't even remember the ending whether he got caught or not. Did he?

How can this be??

reply

SPOILER FOR THOSE WHO DIDN"T SEE IT

Yes. He was caught. For more info, you should look up the true story this movie was based on.

reply

Ah, thanks. It just weird how such a good movie can be very forgatable. Lol.

Maybe DiCaprio (and Tom Hanks) made too many similarly themed movies at that time. The other one I don't remember is The Aviator. And then there's also yet another airport themed movie starring Tom Hanks. At least for the later I still remember the ending:
He goes up on an escalator.
reply

The Aviator seemed to get so much attention. Maybe it's because it was about Howard Hughes. He was certainly more well known than the guy in Catch Me if You Can.
To be honest, I only saw the Aviator once. That was enough. I just couldn't buy DiCaprio as Howard Hughes.

reply

I know! The hype was real. It was still at the height of DiCaprio career I suppose. After that, everyone forgot about it.

DiCaprio was also pretty unconvincing as J.Edgar. Lol. At least, he's pretty good as Jordan Belfort in Wolf of Wall Street.

reply

Phantom of the Paradise

reply

See No Evil, Hear No Evil. Great movie.

reply

Resident evil:the final chapter

reply

Another one. Julia, Full Circle. It stars Mia Farrow.
