This should be an episode of CSI.
I actually remember some show (might have been a CSI) where a kid was playing basketball and he got hit in the chest with the ball, and it caused a heart attack that killed him.
I think there is a spot on your chest that if you get hit hard enough there, it causes a heart attack. It doesn't have to penetrate the skin, just blunt force can do it. Interrupts the heart rhythm or something.
I am surprised it doesn't happen more to boxers, they get punched in the chest all the time.

It's really sad when someone so young and healthy dies like that.
