I have an idea to drive more discussion in MovieChat

So it goes like this...

Add a special board for aggregate posts. The only thing it does is displaying ALL posts and replies made in recent time for all and any thread in the entire MovieChat.

They are not real boards though, but merely links to the originating boards themselves. Basically a virtual board.

With one click users can quickly skim on every recent activities happened in MovieChat and then jumping right into the post that interests him/her.

This has two-fold benefit: to entice more discussions (the main purpose) and also reducing the tendency of people making movie or actor specific threads on General Discussion because the corresponding board itself has little to no traffic.

reply

I don't like it.

reply

How could you?! How could you not lik dis?

reply

Barclays is a troll a.k.a. Bennie. It has been confirmed by Naps, Apis, myself, and Dazed. Do not bother interacting with it.

reply

Arvin! Good to have you back. Come on, join us in The Club 1000...

reply

Hahah, I saw a thread on that. Only, MovieManCin would get his own thread and a couple others and myself would have all ready made it to the 2000 club. Then again, there could be 100 club, 1000 club, and any other club that is made with an added "0".

reply

There's also a 666 club.

reply

Thank you. Thankyouverymuch!

reply

Thought you retired, arvin. Welcome back

reply

Liars. Coincidently, all those people you listed are obviously my ignore list.

reply

Nice try, little bennie. You also said arvin was on your ignore list, yet you know what he posted. Busted again, trollboy

reply

This is a great idea.

reply

See, everybody here likes it except Barclays...

reply

So kind of like the trending list, but instead of just showing the movie where the recent post occurred, it would show the actual recent posts?
That seems like a good idea.
It would save some clicks, instead of seeing a movie in the trending list and then having to go to that board, click the top thread, and click the last post in it. (and then repeat for every trending movie)

reply

Yes! And the best thing is it also works with any other topical discussions.

reply

It's got my vote.

reply

From the sounds of that, I think that idea could work too.

reply

What you're talking about already exists as a complete forum, imdb2. Why don't you go there instead of trying to turn this place into imdb2?
Why should the creator of this site be constantly changing things around because a few people are never satisfied?
I swear, people are never satisfied. If you don't like the way this forum is, then go to another one. Odds are the same people here are there as well. There isn't going to be a lot of new members so keep dreaming. The average person doesn't give a damn about movie discussions.

reply

Okay.

reply

Let's just focus on making this forum the way it is, our home. We all need to learn to get along because we are a community.

reply

No. Everyone else is a community. You're just an annoying purposeless troll, little bennie.

reply

You should have died with IMDB boards

reply

Excuse me?

reply

you don't seem to really have a clue about how to get along though, you really act like a jerk.

reply

Oh great. Here comes another anonymous poster jumping into one of my discussions with someone else and insulting me out of the blue as if he knew me personally.

No I don't act like a jerk. Show me an instance where I've been a jerk to someone that was being nice to me.

reply

He is a troll. He use to come on all my threads and write how "stupid" they were. His real account name is Bennie; however, he/she keeps shapeshifting (nameshifting...lol) to other sock accounts. I am not sure why the individual has stayed on this one for so long though. You would think it would be better to keep making new usernames to cover his/her trail? Very weird troll.

reply

It's a good idea. I was going to suggest something like it a few days ago and got sidetracked.

reply

Did you happen to email Jim with this suggestion? I really think it's a winner.

reply

No, I guess he might have too many suggestions already. So, I'll just leave it here who knows he happens to read some General Discussions board.

reply

Good idea, taking the home page one-step-beyond
