Remember all the fighting on IMDB; the constant "New Users", scrolling, and other shenanigans for 16 years.... I just paused the movie "Countdown" (Altman) after thinking how wonderful it is to talk movies, and not ONCE seeing a disheartening reply.

It is a nice place, but be prepared if this site ever grows. Like any other small community... as soon as it gets larger so does its crime rate.
shareAltman got fired on Countdown because the studio was horrified by the widespread usage of overlapping dialogue. He probably wouldn't have gotten away with it on MASH were 20th Century Fox not busy with their two big-budget war pictures Patton and Tora!Tora!Tora! at the same time.

It started in 1990 but I don't think it got big until the mid nineties. That's why I think Shawshank and Pulp Fiction have so many votes... they were at the top of the list when it started to blow up big.
