It was the year of our lord one thousand, five hundred and twelve. The Spanish conquest of the West Indies were under way and Horatio enlisted as a merchant marine, with grand hope to see the new world and bring back riches and gold. His voyage set out to the west but a terrible storm disrupted their journey and the ship sailed south to the icy waters of the Antarctic. Through the fog and artic ice, an albatross appeared and the sailors were rejoiced with hope that they will soon find land and out of this icy hell. But Horatio, being devious and evil, had a grin as he lifted his crossbow and shot the albatross down. His shipmates cried against what he’d done, and about his neck the dead bird was hung. Soon the fog clears and the ship had escaped from the depths of frozen death, the shipmates forgave Horatio and became part of the crime.
Soon, a terrible thirst began. The ships water, tainted with an unseen curse, sickened the crew. The sea was calm, with no wind in her sails, the ship sat on the ocean as idle as a painted ship. Surrounded by water, but no drop to drink, the sailors cursed the evil Horatio and tied him to the top of the mast. Creatures began to rise from the sea and slither onto the ship. Slimy little things, they covered the ship and her crew. The crew, prayed to release them from this curse, when a ship appeared in the distance. An empty ship with only two in her crew, Life and Death, they rolled the dice for the crew. Death won the crew, but Life won Horatio. A deathly pale woman, she took Horatio and left the rest of the crew for Death.
