I don't know if there are more, there isn't any leaderboard. Maybe ask jim for one so you can see if you are #1.
I don't even notice post counts except when brand new people post here in general discussion with weird random shit that has nothing to do with movies like their rewritten bible with themselves as the star. When people with less than 10 posts post something wackadoodle, then I notice it because I am like, wtf are you on about? But for most normal posters I don't notice it.
Congratulations, that's an impressive number. (reached without cheating, unlike some posters we won't mention) π»

Congrats! I'm somewhere over 1k, but nowhere near 2k.
Your number of posts is also impressive. I would've have more posts, but we currently have a government crisis in my country (it's better intrigue than Game of Thrones, I swear lol) so I'm spending more time on local forums at the moment.)
shareAnd the government crisis is probably caused by the U.S. huh?
FACK!
No, it's caused by one crooked politician who sold his soul to the rival party and voted against his own party line, and now all the hell has broken loose. We might have early elections because of that idiot.
shareWell, I am so glad that "maybe" the U.S. has not involved itself in your country's affairs. I am getting tired of it!
shareSo, arvin, what was your perspective of the good ole USA lobbing missiles at Syria? You don't seem to think we should ever involve ourselves. IMO, humble that it is, I tend to agree with you especially over the last 60 yrs. We can thank bad boy LBJ for the beginning of our escalations into other countries affairs.
shareI will clarify. The U.S. should only involve itself out of defense, not all out offensive.
shareGlad you're still around, was wondering where you were. But, sorry to hear you've got a governmental crisis in your country. Blech. Definitely more important posting about that than about movies or shows.

Thanks. I'm retired, and I love conversing with my fellow film fans.

Thank you.

I'm one of the "originals" on here and I've posted nowhere near that amount.
shareI am the original "originals" on here. I was here the moment this site went live.
shareMovieManCin2 is a necroposter who rarely uses more than 4 words in his comments so, it explains why he has such a high amount of posts.
sharenecroposter
A person posting in a really old topic. Such as a topic that is a year old. They look for old post and try to start them up again. Most necroposting is caused by the primitive race known as the n00b
"necroposter" That's not spelled right according to my spell-check
"A person posting in a really old topic. Such as a topic that is a year old. They look for old post and try to start them up again. "
That sounds like what we do here.
Things are picking up but until we get even more traffic we need to respond to old posts in order to get conversations going!
That's not a bad thing.

Go for meaningful posts, not posts with few words. You would beat all of us in posts; however, can you really say that you had some truly meaningful discussions with people on here?
shareWhen someone comments, they need not make it a book report.
shareexactly
shareWould you rather it be like a "text"?
How I comment should answer this question.
shareWell, that is not so bad. I am just writing about posts that are one worded answers to posts. I mean, imagine trying to write to someone and every post they have a one word sentence or one to three word phrases? How does anyone make a discussion out of that? I mean, this is the "General Discussion" board.

<< When someone comments, they need not make it a book report. >>
Right. But if we are communicating, shouldn't there ideally be SOME substance? I mean, otherwise, what is being communicated? If you're talking with someone, doesn't it matter what they say?
Does this "review" below really add anything? What's the point?

My review of this film
Awful! The worst movie I saw in 2015. 3/10. A real turd.

Everybody is different. I communicate my way. Others communicate theirs. I can talk a LOT.
shareEverybody is different. I communicate my way. Others communicate theirs.
The main point was that I was trying to warn other people not to waste their time and money on that turd.
Also it stimulated conversations which I love. Some of my posts are short, some medium, and some lengthy.

Yes....and of course we (or I) can't judge someone on 1 post/thread : )
It's just in general in life, I usually value quality over quantity. If someone says "I have 2,000 pairs of shoes!!!" but then you see they're all ratty, rubber flipflops full of holes, it kind of takes on a different light.
So generally, I'm not too impressed by someone being a "top poster" unless they consistently have something of some value to say. (And hopefully said in an interesting or funny manner.)
But I do like people, and usually find something interesting in practically everyone...unless they're vile. So, I don't mean to come across as a harpy, as someone here called me the other day : o
.
You are definitely NOT a harpie, cookie.
π
Thanks : ) I hadn't thought myself as such, either! (Tho I did like THE LOBSTER more than you did. I think Rachel Weisz is ravishing, and a very good actress. And anything with Jane Fonda in it is pretty worthwhile, in my book. I didn't totally love the movie or anything, but I thought SOME of it was interesting.)

You're welcome, and that's why they make chocolate and vanilla.

Yes I believe I can. It's been very enjoyable.
π
As someone who doesn't post here often or give a fuck about much.... I did notice you are the top poster, so keep it up because it means loads!
BOOM!!! MovieManCin2 (2252)
Thank you. BTW, this turned out to be a great thread since it generated so much response.
I really love conversing with my fellow film fans.
2310 now. Boom!
π
I was going to post this reply to your OP, but this is better here...
I don't find anything wrong with posting short or one word replies. I'm very much guilty of it myself. And you shouldn't have to explain yourself as to why you would post short responses.
That being said, I, myself personally, would not have made a post about my post count because then you open yourself up to this... uh... this... this *stuff* that you see here throughout.
But, you seem to be enjoying it so... more power to you LOL!!
And props for your achievement as well. π
Thanks, April. That's very kind of you to say. I did the post on a whim, having absolutely no idea what an avalanche of responses I would receive. I thought most people would think "Big whoop.", and ignore it, but I was obviously wrong.
And yes, I am enjoying the heck out of it. I just love conversing with my fellow film fans, even the ones who throw sticks and stones. It's all good.
