That's dastardly. Post production shouldn't take nearly that long, especially for a chainsaw film. I hope they took their time to make it cool as hell, or else it'll all seem kinda pointless to me. I'm not entirely enthused by the prequel aspect, because I'm always going to crave an adult, brute Bubba.
I agree!! although at this point i am just craving a texas chainsaw movie. I wish they could build off of the 2003 remake and go from there. I am tired of all of these films taking place after the original. I want to see them build on from that and keep making sequels.
To be honest, I wish they would make a sequel to part 4. That one has Oscar potential if you could ever get McConaughey to come back. *wink*
2003 sequel wouldn't work, cuz they chopped off his arm and we all know what happens to the sheriff. That movie kicked ass though. I love that movie. Too bad they didn't just do a sequel to the 2013 movie. Most people seem to hate it, but I love it. Then again, the same thing goes for part 4. People hate it, and I love it. OH WELL.
Ah thats right, haven't seen it in a while. I am going back and watching all of them started with original a few days ago. I saw Part 4 2 or 3 times when I was younger and i agree with you i really dug it. It gets a lot of hate though. I am curious to see when I watch it again soon if it will hold up for me, still.
I have two copies of the theatrical version dvd. I also have the extended cut dvd, which is an interesting comparison piece for the enthusiasts. It's definitely cheesy, but I think it's so, in the mostly perfectly awkward way. That's why the cult guy in a suit was peeved at Vilmer. He wasn't being a horror movie character... he was being a b-movie character!
Nothing better than B horror movie if done correctly. Few questions I came by as I just bought texas chainsaw 2 and 3.
For texas chainsaw massacre 2, I got the gruesome edition... Is that a big difference and NC-17 version instead of the R version?
For Leatherface III i have both rated and unrated. Do you know if the unrated is fully unleashed blood and violence, because I know a lot of fans were complaining that the R rated film was censored?
The Gruesome Edition of TCM2 is not an alternate version. It's the theatrical version, but it has decent special features. The r-rated and unrated of TCM3 wont be very different, but I always prefer the uncut versions, because there's simply MORE of it.
thank you! excited to watch them, haven't seen them in a while. if I'm not mistaken didn't texas 2 go into theaters with a NC-17 rating now that I think back ?
It very well might have. I'd say so because of the initial chainsaw to the head. The movie is a lot more violent than the first, including beating a man's head in with a hammer and cutting his face off, chainsaws through the gut, slashed open stomaches, etc. NC-17 was probably an issue for it. lol
After just seeing Part 4 The Next Generation for the first time in a while. I gotta say I loved it as well. It's B movie heaven. I died when Vilmar's wife was hitting Heather with the stick lightly and she's like please stop it. Def one of the most fun TCM sequels
