Have some people gone back to lurking?

It seems to me people have gone back to lurking and not posting. I posted about a show I like and would get responses. Lately not so. It seems like things have slowed down. I might be wrong.

Did you inquire that people should discuss it on the message board of that show? I find it helps to post in the General Discussion thread and see if people are actually interested in that show. I have very specific shows that I only watch and if it does not fall under those, I would not have much to say on it.

I have found that doing this does increase the amount of people that will participate.

It's a question/observation about Moviechat.

People sometimes do have lives to live and cannot get back immediately to you. As long as there is still some activity within days I would not worry about it.

I would not expect anyone on movie chat to have a life. In fact, this should be their life. We should all be quarantined on here for eternity. The only things we are allowed to do are eat hot pockets (South Park reference. Never actually watched it, but heard about it) and/or any other frozen t.v. dinners and chat on here. Oh and we also get to watch movies and shows or else, how could we find something to write about?

Sounds good to me!

Sounds good in reality. The hardest part to living this kind of lifestyle would require a ton of financial backing. I am guessing a good amount of people on here are retired?

I'm seeing some new people on some TV boards, as well as some rarer movies. That's good. That means they found it through word of mouth or by searching.

Also, I was impressed when Thor: Ragnarok's teaser came out and the boards over there kind of "blew up" (in its own small way). It wasn't anything like the IMDB days, of course. But for only being around for two months, MC seems to be doing rather well and picking up new people. Reddit made a second thread about MovieChat and it got over 3,000 upvotes. That obviously doesn't mean 3,000 people coming over here right away, but at least MC is now on their radar.

Things are doing quite well here overall. I've given up on themoviedb because hardly anyone posts but it's much better here. It will improve over time.

Me.

I lurked for 10+ years on the imdb boards then decided to post on the View boards after just lurking for a year.
It didn't take but a few posts before I was called a sockpuppet, which I very much expected. So many brutal posters on that board.
I posted there for a few months before they shut the boards down.

I kinda missed it and yet it was nice to be done with it too as it took up a lot of time responding.

I've been reading these boards since then but rarely post.
Practically no one visits the View boards on this site but I'm glad the threads were salvaged.

The GD board is my go to here.....but mostly just lurking ;)

Have a great day!

I’ve noticed that more than a few members that were here in the beginning are no longer here.

In my favorite forum, the little house forum, there’s not much activity as there was at IMDB. But I know that the former IMDB little house fans are monitoring it, because when someone posts in a way that tickles their funny bone in just the right way they will chime in.

Thank you for the replies. It's appreciated.
