The MovieChat movie and television boards have been furnished with a virtually complete archive of threads from the IMDb movie and television boards, which is a wonderful achievement and one of this site's greatest selling points.
But many of the people (actor, director, etc) boards here are still entirely missing any sort of IMDb post archive (even though some of these particular boards had many posts on IMDb), and others still have the 9-post limit problem that once also existed on the movie and television boards.
The full threads for most of the actor boards are definitely available somewhere (probably from Archive Team's archive), as some other sites such as Hashed.io already have the full archives available to the public.
For example, here is MovieChat's Cary Grant board (missing any archived IMDb posts):
About a month ago, Jim wrote the following in a post:
All Movies and TV Shows are fully restored. Actors, on the other hand, do still have the 9-post limit as you mentioned. We're currently looking into seeing if there is a way to fully restore actor boards as well.
Is there still any plan to repair the actor board archives?

Probably not. I mean, unless there is some remaining things that were left after the ripping of what could be salvaged, the actor's/actress's message board will just have to be rewritten.

You’re already aware of it, but I was about to mention Hashed.io, since it seems to have the most complete archives of all, but not all apparently. For example, I tried to look up the Road To Avonlea TV series, and it’s missing.
I’m sure that IMDB has indeed retained the complete archives, but given the nature of the way that they shut down the boards, I seriously doubt that they will ever release them. Makes you wonder though how Hashed.io got a hold of a more complete set of archives than the other sites.

Archive Team amassed a huge archive (nearly 4 TB) of IMDb posts in the weeks before IMDb shut down. They uploaded the archived boards in multiple large archive files here:
I assumed that this is where Hashed.io got its archive, although I don't know for certain.
Also, a while back (before the movie and television archives were fully restored here), Jim wrote the following:
[quote]As some others have mentioned, we have virtually all of the movie and tv show threads backed up offline (thanks to archiveteam), and we're currently working on uploading everything to the site.
I see. So it sounds like the other sites just stopped short of restoring the archives once they restored the movie and tv series message boards. Whereas hashed.io restored the full archives, including the various actors message boards, or at least all of what the archive team was able to capture prior to the closing of IMDB.
And yes, it would be nice to have that here as well. Hopefully some day we will.

I don't think that every site used Archive Team's archive (some sites only have what they themselves scraped from IMDb before it went down). But it seems that MovieChat and Hashed.io used it, as far as I can tell.

I don't think that hashed.io has the full actors archives from IMDb because I was searching for several actors I know had message boards on IMDb but they're not on hashed.io. Maybe I'm doing something wrong?
Yes, I think that’s probably the case as well Drmccormack, so it’s not just you. I found a few missing message board archives as well, but most that I have searched for so far seem to be in place, so it seems to be the most complete of all the sites.
