Not necessarily. I was a user for barely 4 months and lurked mostly, and didn't have a friend list, and I am in NO way a troll.

Even though I have an established past on IMDB, and several people who've now recognized and vouched for me, an account I freely gave to you (and anyone else who's reading on this public board), what difference does having some well-known former IMDB friends make?
There are some I trust, as much as I'm able with the little information I know about them, based on their posts here, and those I don't for the same reason.

I too hope Jim picks great mobs, and also agree that some of those who're begging to become mods are well known trolls. i didn't know then back on IMDB, but I do now.

I've said REPEATEDLY I do not want to be a mod, nor have I ever suggested I'd want to ban anyone for cussing. Do you have any proof of that? No, of course you don't, because I never said it.
Again, if you're talking about IMDB2, as I've also said repeatedly, I know nothing about it and have never been there, because I have no interest in it.
Believe me, the last thing I want to see happen here is for any trolls to become mods on this site. And AGAIN, the only people I've seen who've posted that they're eager to become mods here have been obvious trolls.

The only edits I've ever made are either to correct typos, or if correcting anything of substance, I made it clear by saying [Edit: blah blah], as you should know seeing as one of them was directed specifically towards you, as I made an error.

What the H are you talking about? Our "debate" is documented in this thread. I never said anything about putting people who cuss on ignore, or that they should be banned, or given warnings, or anything else.
The only thing I said about cussing at all is that IMDB auto-beeped out cussing, and that if you were such an advocate of free speech, why didn't that bother you?

Let me preface this with it's a given Catbookss can fend for herself. But, I have to step in and give my two cents worth. I've known Cat for about a year. We've had some fairly heated discussions to the point I would cease replying to her. So, read me clearly. Cat is the last person who would ban or call for a ban of someone! She took shots at IMDB which were unforgivable. The foul, vile language thrown at her was shocking. All due to the fact she would not think like them. Agree with them...whatever! Did she ask for a ban? No! Did she report them? No! In fact I can't recall when she put someone on Ignore. I won't swear to it, but we exchanged PM's and I'm fairly certain she would mention if she had done so. She damn sure wouldn't call for a ban on someone for swearing! She's accepting, but like a cat, don't back her into a corner! She's assertive and she stands her ground. She has an uncanny recall ability. Why you all have made it your mission to target and besmirch her is beyond me. And, Wilson, get off the spade ♠️ kick! Because sometimes a ♠️ is just a ♠️!

I don't think I am officious, but if you do, that's certainly your right, and it's also your right to say so.
You're right that despite our occasionally having disagreements here and here along the way of our year or more interactions on IMDB, we've nevertheless been able to maintain a good degree of cordiality. I saw a lot of what I consider to be vile, foul, and inexcusable language directed towards you as well, and see no excuse for it. I never saw any call from you to ban those who engaged in that kind of behavior, much as though we may dislike it personally, than I did myself.
I appreciate your measured post about me. Should we stop calling one of the four suites of cards a spade? Maybe we should rename them all. or otherwise risk being labelled a RACIST ;)

I personally saw her say "people should be banned for cussing"..now she's accusing me of lying.
They've lied repeatedly on this board on several occasions and reported what they consider to be inappropriate behavior via the report function whilst never stopping to consider if they've ever been ass inappropriate themselves. They seek to over-moderate this message board and have an unsavory means to try and justify mob rule.
A couple of posters who I recognize from reading the boards on IMDB have vouched for them and so I can only presume that they are either faking who they claim to be, have acquired a recent lust for power or are concern trolling.
They've definitely called for bans, have said they would ban if they had the chance and seems to think threatening to leave these massage boards will frighten people into compliance.
There is something foul about this situation and I don't know what it could be.
I say they update their IMDB profile page with something from here to verify they are who they claim to be as this behavior does not match up with other people's accounts of what they were like over there.
To top it all off, I just saw her cuss.
She said hell and crap.
I'm happy enough to let bygones be bygones but I'm not happy that they are given as much leeway as they seem to have been given within the general community here.
They are toxic at the moment and their tantrums make the site look cheap to newcomers and people who want to talk straight about issues.
I'm fairly certain they've been abusing the report button and that's what crashed IMDB.
I think it is a case of stolen identity, or at least I hope that is all it is.
