Favorite's maybe not quite the word I would use.

I will go with an old classic, Ed Gein. Maybe it's home state pride. Only two confirmed kills, but there were probably at least one or two more, including his brother. He did have quite an influence on the culture, though. He was making furniture, clothes and a skin suite from the bodies. 1950s America was pretty shocked.
