Rate: The Happing Ending

9/10

If it had a better beginning, I'd give this a 10. Easily the best movie about mariage and love. Also shows how life has become manufactured, and that if someone is sad, buy more materialist junk.. But they're still not happy, so they think "I don't have enough" and still after spending $11,000 (in 1969) - still not happy...

Richard Brooks is the most underrated director, and keeps proving it over...

Oh okay, the 1969 movie with Jean Simmons. I never saw that one, but I don't think I missed much. It's rated 6.5 on IMDB and only 20% on Rotten Tomatoes.

According to IMDB Richard Brooks has 36 writing credits and 25 directing credits. I think the only films I've seen where he was the director are: Looking for Mr. Goodbar (a very depressing film) and Cat On A Hot Tin Roof (not one of my favorites).
