Last movie you have seen in a theater

I haven't been to a movie theater since 2012. I like staying home with the big screen TV. Netflix and HBO keeps me busy. Of course I am always a year or so behind the latest movies. I recently watched Spotlight/The Martian/The Revenant at home.

Last movie seen in a theater: Taken 2.

Logan, Sunday 3/5. In a fancy theater with reclining seats. Never been a theater like that before, and now I don't want to go back to a "normal" theater, lol. Same price as a usual movie ticket, too.

Was it Regal Cinemas? They are the ones that are known for the reclining seats.

reply

No, it was AMC. Not all of them have reclining seats, but I heard they were going to redo some of their older theaters to include them.

It's been a while (not as long as some of you folks, but still). The best I can remember it was Demolition with Jake Gyllenhaal during SIFF 2016. Saw Brazil during that as well. Terry Gilliam was a guest and talked a bit. That was cool.

Christ, I just realized, I haven't been to the movie theater in three years. The last one I saw was 47 Ronin, in January 2014. Which I absolutely hated by the way (the real story is excellent, but I saw the bastardized Hollywood version).

I live in a rural small-town area with one little theater (we used to have two little theaters, but the other closed down), and we never get movies I want to see out here, so I rarely get to go to the movies. We only get uninteresting fluff and right-wing propaganda movies. Any time a movie comes out that I really want to see, it doesn't end up playing in my town so I have to wait for it to come out on DVD.

But I might get to go this year, since the new Pirates of the Caribbean is finally coming out and that one might end up playing here. That's one i've been looking forward to.
