TCM
Any TCM fans?
shareMy mom watches 10 or 12 hours a day and lately I have caught several wonderful films there.
shareWe had TCM when I was a kid (I don’t live in the USA), but it disappeared a while back, and I’ve never seen it on any cable provider’s list of channels.
I remember watching movies like ‘What Ever Happened to Baby Jane?’, ‘2001: A space odyssey’, ‘Who’s that knocking on my door’, ‘Dog day afternoon’ and many more on TCM. It introduced me to a lot of movies I wouldn’t have sought out at a young age. Sadly gone now and greatly missed, but I have very fond memories related to it (weird to say about a TV channel, but there you go).
I'm sorry you lost TCM. It's my favorite channel. There are so many great old movies you'll be hard pressed to find anywhere else. It's terrible to hear about Robert Osborn's death. I will miss him.
shareYES.
shareA big yes! I watched My Cousin Rachel today on TCM--an excellent British film from 1952 staring Richard Burton and Olivia de Havilland. The film was adapted from the the novel by the great novelist Daphne du Maurier. I've been a classic movie fan since I was a teenager and TCM is the best place to watch films from the beginning of filmmaking--I enjoy the commentary and the hosts, as well, who give the audience behind-the-scenes stories about the stars, directors and the process. The hosts even share little known scandals attached to some movies.
