Is this IMBDs answer to message boards been scrapped?

If it is it's a poor attempt definitely not the same ,u see ur not on the page of the movie u wanna discuss,I can't see this working like message boards did,and from what I have read and petitions been signed it looks like people are leaving IMBD in there 1000s ,so Amazon get it together and bring back message board and all will b forgiven please.

Well IMDB was run by a huge corporation with tons more money than the people running this and the other IMDB replacement sites have - so of course we're never going to be able to actually beat it.

These sites are just meant for people to remain in contact with each other and to have a place to discuss things they wouldn't have otherwise. Of course if IMDB boards came back we wouldn't be able to compete, but that's neither here nor there right now.

"u see ur not on the page of the movie u wanna discuss"

You have to use the Search bar and it will take you to the dedicated forum page of the movie you'd like to discuss. This area is for General Chat and other front page forums, like Film General, TV Awards, Trivia, Movie Awards

It's not IMDB's answer to anything. IMDB has nothing to do with making the board. It's made by a dude called Jim as a substitute since IMDB took the original boards down.

Sorry, but is it really too much to ask to write out words in their entirety, as well as using punctuation? You're either 27 or 28 years old, so there really isn't any valid excuse. Your posts will hold a lot more credibility that way. As it stands, it looks as though you're extremely lazy, or the basics of the English language have never been properly conveyed to you. Thank you for your understanding.

I wonder if members could eventually be banned for not being able to put a sentence together. I might like that!! (However, I suspect OP is just a troll, trying to goad users into defending our beloved new site.)

That's my impression, too.

My question is will IMDb eventually realise these pages are here and force them to close down either because you've taken their design or because you've reproduced people's conversations on a different site when they haven't strictly agreed to it.. I hope not as I would hate to loose the message boards completely but it is a thought that entered my head.

I guess only people who posted under their real name on IMDb could potentially sue. I doubt Cutebunny123 or IloveTrump or Askmeanything2 can sue anyone. lol

EDIT: Darn, there are posts here by Col Needham... maybe better delete those quickly, just in case.

It would actually be more personalized because this is more "FOR THE FANS". IMDb is more focused on publicizing movies and listing details. This is more for the movies that the fans want to talk about. If there is a movie or show here that needs to be added, a fan should be able to add it (provided it is legit) and only those shows or movies would be talked about.

IMDb is kind of bloated in the sense that people can be on the message boards, but threads made years and years ago can rarely be responded to because it lacks communication (something I discuss under the posts I posted under General Discussion recently).

This page can be better and catered more towards the fans instead of "the movie" or "the business".

Wow....I hadn't even given a thought as to how new projects and performers will eventually be added (!) The site's builder Jim is obviously 20 steps ahead of any members, and will address it in time : )

If all of this here at MovieChat has been done by one person, or a handful of persons, it just tells me how powerful the individual is versus a massive corporation like Amazon and the three decades old IMDB, that had stupid forum errors like "doh" or "oops that wasn't supposed to happen" over and over again, despite a lot of financial contribution from subscribers and IMDBPro users, not to mention the parent company Amazon, which is a behemoth.
