Missing Boards From IMDB

Is it possible to request still missing boards from IMDB. I know , that IMDB as source isn't available anymore but there were presumably other teams working on archiving some content or maybe Jim has but haven't yet restored all data.

Really miss all those lost messages :(

There's a torrent with 5GB of data from IMDb boards, I've been told that many missing posts are in there, they just have to be extracted and replaced. It all takes time. BTW, I downloaded that 5GB file, just in case something goes wrong it's a good idea to have it.

That is beautiful.

This is beautiful , hopefully we're thinking of restoring these archives.

It's something that we're looking into.

Someone here said that they were disappointed the Jaws board were empty, and many great posts were lost. But then he returned a few days later and saw it populated again with the threads he remembered.

That could be good news for us. It means there's a good chance many of the missing boards will eventually come back (I don't know this for sure, but the possibility is there).

I've also seen other users tell Jim that they've been doing their own archiving. It's not the same volume of data that MovieChat was able to recapture, but their archiving efforts could still be extremely helpful in filling in some gaps, if needed.

Thank you! Not to go too off topic, but how did you provide the link to the Jaws board in your post?

reply

It takes a few steps but it's basically:

1) Enter your URL in the between the quotations
2) Enter your own text in the second part

Here's the board code template (remove the spaces and it should turn into a link):

< A HREF = "http://the.webpage.com"; > Name of webpage here < /A >

Great! Much appreciated:)
