It would be better if there was some kind of (email) notification. In that case it would be more useful to go around the boards posting new messages and there would be a bigger chance at getting replies and at discussions picking up again.
shareI'll post some things right now. I didn't really join in the discussions on IMDb. I was more of a lurker. I want this site to work because I'm grateful for all the hard work put into trying to archive the boards. I did look up a lot of actors' boards yesterday and sadly many of them are empty because I'm sure Jim didn't have enough time to save them. It's a pity.

I think this is going to be my board of choice, to replace IMDB message boards.
I do hope the owner (Jim) cam monetise the boards (maybe use adsense or similar), so that he can keep them running for the next 20 years! What I would hate is that a large organisation comes a long, sees the size of the community here (which is going to get big, fast) and buys up the forum and makes negative changes.
I just want a place where after I have just watched a move or tv show, I can come to and discuss it and imdb was the only place where there was a separate board for every single tv show and movie. I hope that MovieChat can take over that mantle.

We need to realize that there aren't the millions of people here that there were on IMDB - if we want the site to take off of the ground, we're gonna have to start rolling up our sleeves and putting the work in, even those of us who are more used to sitting back and replying to topics instead of making them.
