Haha, IMDB's Facebook page has been getting its ass torn open for a while now

When you go there (don't worry, you don't have to leave a like or subscribe), you actually have to search pretty hard to find a comment NOT referencing or complaining about the boards being closed.

You just know they have to be seeing that, and they just have to be hating that!

Well done whoever's been participating in doing that - it's very painfully clear just how irrelevant IMDB's mighty "social media" is, lol

Good to see IMDb' Facebook getting attacked for closing the boards, keep it up folks!

So, already there's a troll here pretending to be a "cheif" executive from Imdb...and also another troll defending his spelling as correct for the word "chief."

Ah, it already feels just like the Imdb boards used to!

He also said he was a "global business man". Is he like a "global business", man.
It's been years since I was in school, but I'm pretty sure it's "businessman".
If he DOES work for IMDb, no wonder it's going into the toilet.

It's lovely and I hope it continues.

I'm not a troll. I am Cheif Executive of IMDb and I am demanding you remove this website as it contains stolen data.
The trouble with people who use message boards is they are layabouts with no life. I, on the other hand am a global business man. What do I do? I make money and fuck women.
You cant do that on a message board.

You gave yourself away when you said "What do I do? I make money and fuck women"

Nice try troll!

They definitely are, but nothing will happen I bet.

IMDB ignored two petitions with over 15,000 signatures (and those were just for two weeks). They really wanted to get rid of that message board for some reason.

Jim said he spoke with someone over at Amazon/IMDB who was thinking of creating an archiving tool for the users to more easily save their posts, but scrapped the idea when they realized it wouldn't make them money.

And when the boards closed, they didn't even say "Good bye" or "Thank you for all the years..." or anything. All of those contributions and traffic IMDB users have provided, and they got a door slammed into their face.

I am not permanently mad at IMDB, because I am still going to use their Trivia section and other info (like finding name of actors, composers). But they really could've handled this better. They didn't even make a compromise and at least archive the posts themselves, and just disable the ability to make new threads and posts.

Nor did they even give us a well deserving apology.
