This site is better than the other Substitution out there

I went on the other boards and it is chaos and disorganized

I wonder how old it is. Was it created just recently or was it prepared when the announcement commenced like a month ago? Seems very refined.

This site was put up only about six days ago. But I think Jim started archiving like crazy since the announcement on Feb 2nd

For being only 6 days in, it's actually in really good shape. Of course there's more to do, but it really does capture some of IMDB's features really well. I just wish there were more users here right now. They are all over there on IMDBv2 and seem comfortable where they are.

About the boards, it would be really great for everyone to have a look here https://www.imdforums.com and consider all the features of these boards and what their originator has to say about their creation and his own credentials. We want whichever board we end up using to be the best format on the best platform currently available to avoid future disasters. If at all possible I would like to see us choose a format and perhaps merge the contents of two or more boards into the boards with the best format. Thank you.

Looks ugly as shit.

I came here on Valentine Day. This site will be a week old Tuesday (today). Jim is doing a great job on this site.

I honestly think way too many threads are missing. I heard about others who've also archived the boards. Couldn't they all work together to create an even better site? I think there's a bigger chance of people returning if they know almost all of their posts have been saved.

TMDb also has the "Let's Chat" section which shows all the current discussions going on on the different boards. Maybe we should also have something like that on here (if only temporarily). I think it's a turn-off for many people when they look up some random board and they see no activity.
