Sally Struthers TV movies
We used to have a thread on Sally's TV movies, but since it's been deleted (and since I just watch "A Deadly Silence") I thought I's re-write it. Here are the ones I've seen:
1. A Gun in the House (1981) A really terrific movie, this is probably Sally's all-time best work. Sally stars as a housewife who is terrorized by intruders. A MUST-SEE! Available on dvd.
2. ...And Your Name is Jonah (1979) Sally stars as the mother of a little deaf boy. The movie is really effective and touching.
3. Intimate Strangers (1977) Sally gives another terrific performance, starring as a battered wife. Available on vhs.
4. In the Best Interest of the Children (1992) Sally and Sarah Jessica Parker are fighting over the custody of Sarah's children. This very enjoyable movie used to be repeated frequently on Lifetime, but it's rarely shown now.
5. A Deadly Silence (1989) Sally has a supporting role as the sister of a man who is murdered by his daughter, because he's molesting her. David Schwimmer and Irene Tedrow (of "Dennis the Menace") have supporting roles. Heather Fairchild gives an outstanding performance as the daughter, and it's a shame that she never became a star. Available on dvd.
6. Aloha Means Goodbye (1974) Sally stars as a woman who thinks she is being treated by a doctor on an island, but in fact her condition is being made worse due to experiments being done on her. Good but not great.
7. Hey, I'm Alive (1975) Sally and Ed Asner star as the only two survivors of a small plane crash in the woods. The movie is slow-moving, and it's my least favorite movie on this list, but it's still not terrible.
