Last TV movie watched.

Mine was OUR GUYs/ OUTRAGE AT GLEN RIDGE(1999) Heather Matarazzo was absolutely brilliant as Leslie Faber, and Ally Sheedy as usual turned in a good performance
as the detective fighting to get justice for Leslie.

I watch a new TV movie every day, so we can really keep this thread going, if you're interested, lol.

Tonight I watched "My Son Is Innocent" (1996) starring Marilu Henner. Future stars Nick Stahl and Michelle Williams co-starred as her son and his girlfriend.

The plot is: Did Marilu's son rape their neighbor, or is he being framed? The movie was a little cheezy, and now, of course DNA would prove his guilt or innocence immediately, but it was still interesting to watch.

Yes I do too, tonight will watch THE PERFECT MOTHER aka THE MOTHER-IN-LAW with Tyne Daly. Talk about 'straight from hell' she's just so good as Éleni'Podaris.

I never saw either of the TV movies you mentioned, but they both sound good, and I'll look for them in the future. I watched 2 TV movies today:

1. Courting justice (aka. When the Vows Break) (1995) Patty Duke & Linda Dano
This movie is best for Patty Duke fans. The story isn't that fascinating (Patty is trying to get a fair divorce settlement) but Patty is onscreen 100% of the time, so that's what makes it good. Linda Dano is a great bonus as her best friend. I also liked that the movie started with one story, and ended up being about something different.

2. Legacy of Sin: The William Coit Story (1995) Neil Patrick Harris & Bonnie Bedelia
Neil suspects that his mother (Bonnie) killed his father. I was surprised that Bonnie had so little screen time. Things didn't really get interesting until the last half hour. I would recommend this movie only to people who really like Neil Patrick Harris (he's in every scene, and the story is centered around him.)

I've just watched "Winner Take All," a 1975 movie with Shirley Jones as a compulsive gambler. It's a safe bet! Very strong supporting cast, including Laurence Luckinbill, Joan Blondell and Sylvia Sidney. 8/10 stars from me.

Next up, on the same cheapo DVD, is "A Sensitive, Passionate Man," with David Jansson as an alcoholic and Angie Dickinson as his long-suffering wife. Should be addictive.

I'm loving this TV-movie board. When did this start, anyway? How I miss the heyday of TV movies of the week, with the likes of Morgan Fairchild and Heather Locklear. Do the major networks still even make TV movies?

WarpedRecord- "Sensitive Passionate Man" with Angie Dickinson is very good. Angie made many great TV movies.

I've never heard of "Winner Take All" with Shirley Jones, Sylvia and Joan, but with that cast, it sounds terrific! I just ordered a copy. The plot sounds a lot like another TV movie I love- "Going For Broke" in which Delta Burke won't stop gambling until she loses EVERYTHING! It's another one of my favorites!

Hello, TVmovieView: I think you'll like "Winner Take All." Shirley Jones is alternately charming and ruthless in that one. After I bought it, I realized I also had another copy on VHS. I would have gladly sent you that if you didn't order it.

I remember "Going for Broke" with Delta Burke when it originally aired. I'll have to track that one down again.

I just watched "A Sensitive, Passional Man," and I liked that even more. It was unrelentingly bleak and honest, which seems rare for TV these days. I found parts of it quite terrifying actually. It reminded me of John Cassavetes' films, with Davis Janssen and Angie Dickinson giving performances that were off the charts.

I am looking forward to watching "Winner Take All" and I'll write about it here when I do. I just wrote more about "A Sensitive Passionate Man" on the Angie Dickinson thread.

Yesterday I watched the TV movie "White Mama" (1980) with Bette Davis and Eileen Heckart. In it, Bette plays an inner-city woman who takes in a black teenage boy as a foster child, so that she can collect the money that goes with fostering a child. Half way through the movie she is evicted from her apartment and the boy leaves her. Now homeless, bag lady Eileen Heckart teaches Bette about life on the streets.

I always thought Bette was one of those stars that remained popular to this day. That's why I'm so surprised that this movie (in which Bette's the lone star, and is on screen 100% of the time) has fallen into such obscurity. Her fans obsess about her theatrical movies, but I'll bet none of the Bette Davis fans have seen this movie- just because it's made-for-TV... Sad.

Mine was an old 1980 TV movie called "White Mama" w/ Bette Davis. It was pretty good; very moving. I watched it on YouTube if anyone is interested. Here's part 1:

I recommend it!
