The Grammys are just obsessed with Foo Fighters for whatever reason, though, and they seem to fit a good slot of a contemporary but still pretty seasoned rock band (and I think the Grammys, not unlike the Oscars, have certain slots one can distinguish between the different nominees in any given year). Same reason I'm not predicting Watch the Throne, though it's solid as hell, but I'm sure the album itself will get nomination love elsewhere.
I'm not sure about Born This Way. The reviews generally seem pretty tepid, compared to some other contenders on metacritic (where BTW has a 71): Adele's got a 76, Foo Fighters a 78, Beastie Boys an 83, Paul Simon an 85, and Kanye's monstrosity of a 94 score. I know that doesn't always matter but the closest to her review wise in my prediction would be Adele who has "Rolling in the Deep" to steamroll through the singular record awards (I think Adele would have a hard time winning the entire Album category). There's also these other contenders, like the yet unreleased Duets II by Tony Bennett which will feature Amy Winehouse's last recording or the Paper Airplane by Grammy fave Alisson Krauss which got decent reviews.
So I just don't know if there's the slot for her. They're absolutely obsessed with Paul Simon (he's got 13 Grammys) and Beastie Boys are sufficiently vetted with some of the best reviews of their career and sentiment for MCA having recorded this through cancer treatment.
