Same Film in 3D or 2D

I watched Man of steel in 2D and 3D and felt the 3D was so unnecessary, I remember feeling the same way about Pirates 4 and others, I have yet to come across a film that looks better in 3D. Your thoughts?

Don't forget to fill in my online survey on the future of 3D tech (shouldn't take longer than 5 minutes and its anonymous so shouldn't affect you in any way)

Thanks

Try Arch Oboler's "The Bubble". It's one of the worst movies in history but the Spacevison 3D was so good I went to see it again. In 2D you'd just want to shoot yourself after about 15 minutes.

I think pretty much all movies filmed in 3D look better in 3D. If the theatre projector (or your home screen) has a good, bright picture there should be no problem. The last 3D movie I saw was The Great Gatsby and the 3D was incredible. I would never chose to watch it in 2D over 3D. Never.

What about more recent films? I Thought it was very unnecessary to have Man of steel in 3D.

I think it depends on how they use the 3D. For example, I found Hugo to be better in 3D than 2D, but Tintin felt the same in both D's. If the filmmakers don't change their cinematography to suit 3D, then, yeah, it's an unnecessary gimmick.

Well how much more recent do they need to be than Gatsby, which came out in May? I haven't seen Man of Steel yet, but when I DO I'll be watching it on my Direct TV pay-per-view 3D channel. I wouldn't want to watch it any other way.

The Great Gatsby's 3D was very good but it didn't make the acting any better. Leonardo DiCaprio was awful.

Whatever. Critics and moviegoers everywhere have been saying it's his best performance ever. Sorry you didn't see that.
