Love 70s American films

Just love the whole atmosphere. The basic lifestyles. The desert, the accents etc etc. Movies like Duel , with American 50s 60s and 70s vehicles, the desert etc. The texts chainsaw massacre with the accents and scenery. Vanishing point, deliverance, the excorcist, amityville, jaws etc etc the list goes on.

So in a nutshell. I love 70s era films that involve cars, on the road , desert scenarios etc. I think I've watched most of the best but if you could give a few more that be great, in case I've missed. Thanks .

I know exactly what you're talking about.

"Badlands"
"Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore"
"Dying Room Only" (- wonderful Made-for-TV movie from 1973. Genuinely suspenseful film that takes place in the vacated desert, great performance by Cloris Leachman.)
"Death Race 2000"
"A Boy and His Dog"
"3 Women"
"The Sugarland Express"
"The Last Picture Show"

This is kind of a long shot, but have you ever seen "Dog Day Afternoon"?

I loved it. There was so much excitement going on in this movie. The plot was deliriously interesting and compelling, and it was just such a totally vivid experience. Everything moved so fast! And Al Pacino was amazing.

It will be Mice Day Afternoon Nan, when I get hold of those pesky rescuers, Bernard and Miss Bianca from the seventies cartoon THE RESCUERS and include them in my soup along with Gus Guts. 

Don't eat the whole ones! Those are for the guests. 🍪

Now you're going after Bernard and Miss Bianca? No mouse will be safe!!!

Wes Craven's THE HILLS HAVE EYES-77'. That one really utilizes it desert locations to the max and makes it a surreal experience also. Of course like mentioned, 3 WOMEN-77', from the same year. Altman couldn't have chosen a better location and setting for his masterpiece. Everything is just right and spot on here.
