Dennis Day Show [or RCA Victor Show w/Dennis Day]

Hi: When I was very young I used to watch the Dennis Day Show [or RCA Victor Show hosted by Dennis Day; I don't remember which] but I remember one episode that my Dad wouldn't allow me to see. I sneaked a peek out the bedroom door and it appeared that Dennis was singing a soft song to Charlie Weaver, who appeared to be seriously ill or dying on a bed. I've always been haunted a bit by that memory, and I am wondering if anybody remembers that episode,and can refer me to a copy of it, or the plot, which I could obtain. Anyone else remember this?

You probably know this. The show is listed under Dennis' filmography as The Dennis Day Show. There is an episode called "My Old Friend" with Cliff Arquette in 1954.

As you probably know, Arquette didn't die in 1954. He was on Hollywood Squares later.

I used to love Charlie Weaver (Cliff Arquette) on Hollywood Squares!

Peter Marshall: "Charlie, as you grow older, which of your senses is usually the first to diminish?"

Charlie Weaver: "My sense of decency."

There was an episode where Dennis was in Charlie's basement apartment and saw that Charlie had giant picture posters of the candidates for President: Ike, Adlai Stevenson and a third guy. The third guy had a name like Charlie Krajewski and he was Charlie's favorite. Dennis had to break the news that the election had been held and Ike had won. Charlie had to tell the folks in Mount Idy on his next phone call.
