Ding Dong School - NBC pre-schoolers series of early 1950s

Quite charming to watch. I approve.

Also, there is another episode on YouTube, which was uploaded, I think, by a guy named Ira Gallen who collects old TV kinescope film reels (my copy of an episode is a DVD-R copy I bought from a website, which shall remain nameless...though I can say that it wasn't Ira's site)

I hope there is a parallel universe with a music group called "Sand, Wind and Fire"

I was too old for Ding Dong School, but I remember it was a kind and gentle program for little kids.

Probably my earliest TV memory was Miss Frances and "Ding Dong School". I was born in 1952.

I wonder what pre-schoolers watch today? MTV? Oh, gosh.

My most enduring memory of Ding Dong School is the sound that Miss Frances' snub-nosed scissors made in the cutting of construction paper. I recall trying to create the same sound, but it was never quite right ... conceivably because my projects weren't being picked up by professional microphones.

My late mom once claimed I was a fan of the show. But one problem, I was born in 1962, long after DDS faded from the airwaves. Probably confused it with Romper Room.

Winky Dink and You (1953) was educational because you learned not to draw on the TV screen until the magic plastic sheet was delivered.
