what is the oldest tv show
on IMDB?
shareIMDb lists a few shows from the 1930s, mainly from the BBC, like "Theatre Parade" and "Cabaret", both from 1936. The oldest that is listed on IMDb for which any footage exists is "The Streets of New York", a NBC TV special from 1939 for which poor-quality fragments survive.
"It's Bucket 'o Nothing! Surprise your friends, amaze your family, annoy perfect strangers!"
The oldest show still running is "Meet the Press," which began in 1947.
shareI wonder what the oldest existing episode of that show is? A lot of 1940s/1950s TV news shows exist more as examples than as complete runs.
"It's Bucket 'o Nothing! Surprise your friends, amaze your family, annoy perfect strangers!"
Walking with the Dinosaurs, it took place 300 Billion years ago.
shareWhat the hell does that have to do with my post?
"It's Bucket 'o Nothing! Surprise your friends, amaze your family, annoy perfect strangers!"
Poor joke?
300 billion years and it's still not out on DVD?
Anyway, here is a terrific site that has all sorts of info on early TV, including photos of televisions as far back as 1928. It lists 1941 as the start of commercial television in the USA.
