And yeah, there are movies with the Earth destroyed by with the exception of Hitch Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy, bringing them up would be pretty spoilery.

Yeah, it's just one building, however when you consider that in order to make the movie, 69 sets had to be built and 67 of them were literally set on fire and burnt to the ground and people were really set on fire, that's gotta count for something over the movies where all destruction is CGI and trick photography.
