City on Fire (1979)

I actually downloaded the MST3K version a while back. This was before they read from scripts, so the riffing is nothing special. A lot more than I expected though, but really its easier to stay with the movie this time around. There is even parts where they leave the theatre, and for minutes youère just watching the movie itself.

Heard lots of bad things for this Canadian disaster movie. I didn't really think it was too bad. Not better than THE TOWERING INFERNO.

A disgruntled civil servant sets fire to an oil refinery, setting off a blaze which engulfs an entire American city. Various people try to either fight or flee the fire as it spreads throughout the city. I noticed lots of stock footage too.

Stars Ava Gardner is an alcoholic newswoman, Leslie Nielson as the mayor, Shelley Winters as a nurse, James Franciscus as Ava's husband whom also works at the TB studio, and Henry Fonda I think as the chief of the fire department. He didnt really do that much actually.

I also saw the MST3K version of SST: DEATH FLIGHT, but can not rmeember it very well. Will need to see it again.
