What are must see movies?

Lately i'm very into disaster movies, whether it's earthquakes, volcanos, tornados, buildings on fire..etc..you name it.

Movies that i have seen

The Towering inferno (when i was very young, gonna watch this one again soon)
2012 (decent...and that's about it)
The day after tomorrow (decent)
Nihon Chinbotsu(2006) Loved it
Dante's Peak - Liked it alot
Twister - Same

I think those are about it. What movies are must see movies? I'm looking for movies from since the 70's to current day..basically. Disaster movies about the world ending or just a disaster in general. Good acting, suspense, surprises/unexpected/shocking things etc.

Definitely The Poseidon Adventure
Earthquake
Airport
The Hindenburg
The Day After (1983 - made for TV)
Titanic (1997)

And if you want to see one about the end because of nuclear war but no special effects, see Testament (1983). It's a little movie with a great story and great acting, especially by Jane Alexander. Look for Kevin Costner in a small, early role.

The special effects sequences in these films are as good as any CGI today. Especially impressive are the ones in San Francisco, Hurricane, In Old Chicago, and The Rains Came
