Thoughts on Toby Keith?

I was wondering what everyone thinks about him. Personally, I love a lot of this guy's 90s stuff like Should've Been a Cowboy, Who's That Man, You Ain't Much Fun, How Do You Like Me Now? etc. but it seems like post-2001, he just sucks with the exception of a few songs. A majority of them now are mostly either about hot chicks, patriotism, and drinking. Don't get me wrong, being proud of your country is a good thing and I get that drinking has been a staple of country music for a long time but this guy's originality is clearing running out and I think it's time for him to retire from the music industry.

I agree that after being on the radio long enough, it gets harder to come up with subjects that have not been sung about yet, but to me, country radio is not complete if Toby is not a part of it.

Rillytho: He's just selling what people will buy, and that's the best business model. I don't think he'll be remembered for taking the most popular political stances of his time.
