Holy Cartoon, Batman! I guess this is really nothing new, as he kind of made a name for himself with animated features over the last ten years, but I think Dragon really raised the bar. I'm not complaining, but I'm a little disappointed that there won't be a single John Powell action score this year.
shareFigured I'd give this a bump a year and a half later... as Powell is still emmersed in cartoons. Has anybody else been a little disappointed in his outings since Dragon? I think that score set my expectations through the roof, and perhaps it's BECAUSE of Dragon that scores like Rio, The Lorax and Ice Age really don't do much for me.
shareWell, I enjoyed his Green Zone score, especially the track 'Attack and Chase'. Even though some of his animated stuff is good, especially How to Train your Dragon and Kung Fu Panda 2, I am a bit disappointed that he is the go to guy for scoring animated films and nothing else.
