LeMans -- best sport movie overall !!!!
The movie LeMans starring Steve McQueen had to be the best sport movie overall (other than Alive!- ha ha). Even better than Hoosiers and Victory, what do you think?

shareIf you all like this movie try to look up the Anime series called "Capeta". It highlights a young boy who learns of kart racing (the fast go-karts not the things you see at the funplex). The storry follows him as he makes his way up the ladder from karting to formula 3 on up to formula 1. It gets a bit cheesy at times but the main story and animation are spot on. Not to mention the suspense of the races is killer.
shareLe Mans is a terrible movie and one of Steve McQueen's worst movies. There's no plot to speak of and provides no insight into the racing culture. It's basically a bunch of well-shot, technically impressive racing scenes.
I am a God among men. I'm also really good at Mario Party.
The main fault I find with LeMans, as I have pointed out on that board is the totally unnecessarily sped up footage. I know there is some great footage in the film, but the shots where they sped up 200MPH race cars to appear like they are doing 300MPH just totally puts me off of the movie.
It was not necessary in the least and should be very obvious to anyone who has seen racing cars at their actual speeds.
I get so frustrated by those scenes that I don't watch the movie nearly as often as I otherwise would.

Paul Newman's, "Winning" (1969) is a much better film. I'm a huge McQueen fan, and I find "Lemans" to be his weakest film. This was a major pet project of his, and he was even dissappointed with the final cut.
