25th anniversary of Pearl Jam's "Ten" - August 27th

Any fans of the band Pearl Jam and/or this album? If you’ve heard this album, how has it held up after 25 years?

At the very least, you must be familiar with the song and even the MTV award-winning music video for “Jeremy”. Of course there are also other hit songs like “Even Flow”, “Black” and “Alive”.

I know this is the album that helped make Pearl Jam become a household name.

Good album, I was into this during release and a for few years.

I realized I have not listened to Ten for a few years now. I still listen to VS and Vitalogy once in a while, but not so much Ten. IMO those 2 albums have withstood time more.

Jeremy is still good though.

Time flies--I can't believe it's been 25 years already. Yeah, I think Ten has held up all right, but Pearl Jam was always pretty close to classic rock despite the grunge trappings so it will probably stay in fashion for a while. Ten has some of my favorite Pearl Jam songs on it including "Deep," "Black," "Why Go," and especially "Even Flow."

What I remember best about Ten is that when I went through my divorce my ex-wife had my copy of it in her car when we separated, and I never got it back. That pales in comparison to the legal fees and alimony I had to pay, but that's music for you--it triggers memories so easily.

I'm not a huge Pearl Jam fan, but I liked some of the songs off the album.

I remember the first time I heard it. We were at a theater waiting for a Pink Floyd Laser show to start and they played the whole album. I was immediately hooked. It was at a point were I was no longer actively buying albums but I went and picked it up, on vinyl too. It quickly became one of my all time favorite "whole album" favorites. And then the video's came out and it/they were even more ground breaking.
But as much as I loved it, I didn't favor subsequent Pearl Jam Albums, though I have most all of them and several Concert DVD's.

Fan here!

First song that I fell in love with from the album was Evenflow. Black is one of my all-time faves. I recently watched the movie Out of the Furnace (2013) with Christian Bale, and the track Release is featured in the beginning and end of the film. This made me reminisce so I just had to pull out my CD for a listen. Still great after 25 years!!

Fan from the beginning, fan club member from the beginning, still purchase anything and everything they put out. Even have the Riot Act skull tattoo. TEN still holds up and will continue to do so. My first listen I thought wow this is incredible, when I came to the song DEEP, I was hooked forever.
