Howard Epps is introduced in THE MAN ON DEATH ROW (Season 1, Episode 7). The IMDb says he appears in two more episodes: THE BLONDE IN THE GAME (Season 2, Episode 4) and THE MAN IN THE CELL (Season 2, Episode 12).

And in case you didn't see my INTK reply to your question about the episode with the exploding refrigerator:
Apparently it's TWO BODIES IN THE LAB (Season 1, Episode 15), which according to Huffpost TV was supposed to run on TNT just before THE WOMAN IN THE TUNNEL (Season 1, Episode 16).
Wikipedia's detailed synopsis of TWO BODIES includes the refrigerator explosion (way down in the graph that begins "Concerned for her safety..." under "Plot"): http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Two_Bodies_in_the_Lab
Here's the relevant part of that paragraph:
Booth breaks the awkward silence that settles in by asking [Brennan] if she has anything to drink and when Brennan goes to get it for him, he stops her saying that he's not her guest and goes to get it himself. However, when he goes to get the drink from her refrigerator, it explodes, injuring him drastically. Bones saving him, including his 'alpha male tendencies' grabs the blanket off her couch, and puts out the fire on his chest. The last sentence of the IMDb's first plot summary for TWO BODIES mentions the bomb but not the refrigerator: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0768979/plotsummary?ref_=tt_stry_pl
The IMDb quote:Then Booth is wounded by a bomb in Bones' apartment...I watched most, but not all, of THE WOMAN IN THE TUNNEL & didn't see the refrigerator incident.
