shareI love the show! The cast is great, and the storylines sometimes provide info on past crimes (Son of Sam, the Zodiac Killer, etc), that I find interesting. Or sometimes I'll learn something unusual from one of the characters (Reid:putting candles on a birthday cake was a pagan ritual).

I'm embarrassed to say that I have only been watching the show since January when a friend told me about it. Now I watch it obsessively, and can't wait for Season 10 to begin tomorrow night. My favorite character is also Dr. Spencer Reid. I love his personality, especially his babbling. Blood Hungry is on now, and just saw the episode with the man who hijacked the train and Reid had to perform magic to get the "chip" out of his arm. There was a thread going on last week that the team shouldn't be in the field, they are profilers. I maintain that the show would be boring #1 if it was all about the team just sitting around the BAU profiling, while the LEOs do the actual investigation. #2 Why would the Mark Gordon pay the stars whatever their salary, if the guest actors are going to do all the work. Some people seem to get reality confused with entertainment. One of the thing that makes the show interesting to me, besides delving into the "minds" of the unsubs, is the fact that the team has a life outside of the BAU and that it is sometimes a subplot of the episode, such as Morgan's horrible history with Carl Buford, Reid's parent's involvement with the murder of Riley. I've watched a lot of this type of TV program, NCIS, CSI, Law and Order and the spin offs, and while the audience knows a little about the private lives of the characters, their personal lives aren't as integral to the plot as on Criminal Minds. The characters on Criminal Minds seem to be more well rounded than on the other shows I have watched over the years.
