Just by looking at those pictures I can tell you have an excellent eye for a photograph and your rule of thirds is spot on. The railroad one is beautiful and they look like they have little or no editing which is great. Excellent work!

Good taste stifles creativity

Your enthusiasm and eye are great but remember pics are made up of two things and one of them is the technical aspects, like focus, DOF, type of lens, shutter speed used, etc. Learn all you can, read, ask professionals and find anything you can anywhere you can.

I didn't take long enough to look at too many of them but what hits me first is your focus. It could be your camera, Your lens, or even your camera shake from varied reasons. But keep learning and working on it. I have been teaching it and doing it professionally for over 40 years and still don't know everything.

And thanks, it mainly is the camera. I took a course over the summer about photography. I have a good camera, but it's not a professional camera by any means.

You have a good eye and nice use of perspective and shadow. Keep your camera with you always. You'll never know when that once in a lifetime shot is going to pop up on you.

I was going to mention the focus, but - having a left hand that only has limited ability and which mainly serves to balance my DSLR - I know it can be a bit awkward (especially with a heavier camera) to get used to balancing it. Our garden is on a slope that starts right behind the summer house where we have a climbing rose and I have gone head over heels trying to photograph the rose several times . . .

But what I really like about them (especially the flowers - I love botanical photography) is the framing - they are essentially eye-catching compositions and I like the colours very much. (Colour is something I have always been attracted to in a subject.)
