shareAnd a well-preserved photo/neg/chrome will last a lot longer than one on a cd. And, you can always have your film scanned to a cd for use on a computer.
shareimage wise there is now no more advantage with film. now you can get 40+ mega pixel backs which images can be blown up to the size of a bus and still out perform film. they cost about 20k but they are now the best. and there is absolutley nothing that canot be done using photoshop.
shareWhat kind of camera and computer are some of you guys using????
I taught photo and darkroom for 32 years. I love it but I will never turn back. My digital Nikon D300 is unbelievable. The quality I get out matches even what I did on my Hasselblad with film and even matches my 4X5 camera negatives. As for colors and ability to blow things up, Get a good Mac. I make 30 X 40 prints off of what is a 35 mm camera, Nikon D300 and the prints are emaculate.
I have the D-300 as well and wholeheartedly agree.
sharei like the new d90 shoots hd video aswell.

You have so much more control over your photos. I know it seems like I don't know waht I'm talking about, cause you can do whatever you want with a digital picture, but trust me, you do.The settings on your camera plus your time spent in the darkroom allows yu to control every single aspect of your photograph.
Not true anymore. Even Nikon and Cannon atest to this. I have a D3 and a D300 and they are just as manual as 35mm. Not to mention an adobe program can out Photoshop alot of what you can do in a darkroom. However having a 35mm background of know how under your belt will help you be a better Photographer.
